Story package receives national award

Four Magnet Tribune staff members received an honorable mention from the National Press Photographers Association in November 2018 for an online story package on VMT’s 2017 Hispanic Heritage Festival. The story, photos, videos, and audio interviews were entered in the Multimedia News Story Package category, in the 2018 Digital Story of the Year division. Pictured holding their certificates, from left, are Rachell Ramirez, Lucero Rea, Journalism/Online Media instructor Mark Webber, holding the print version of the package, Aryanna Rodriguez, and Justyne Bernal. The same package also received first place in the Advanced Multimedia category of the Association of Texas Photography Instructors’ Fall Contest.
