The annual afternoon Halloween Costume Contest, sponsored by The Magnet Tribune, saw a number of imaginative costumes at the outdoor stage next to the cafeteria.

Judges were staff writers Martha Inguanzo, junior, Miguel Zamarripa, freshman, and columnist William Rodriguez, senior. Journalism instructor Mark Webber was the master of ceremonies.

As Nixon High had an out-of-town football game and Cigarroa High held a pep rally, many students were out and thus did not compete.

The annual contest for morning students was rained out.
