In the aftermath of war, we follow Violet Evergarden, a recovering soldier. Having only known war and her Major Gilbert, we follow Violet’s perspective as she adjusts to life away from the frontlines. 

Living without her Major Gilbert and unable to live unless she works, Violet gets a job in a postal company. Having unexplainable feelings toward her Major Gilbert, Violet soon begins her training to become an Auto Memory Doll, to write letters for those who cannot write their own letters.

Violet Evergarden’s timeline switches between past and present from time to time as it goes deeper into the backstory of the characters. Violet Evergarden explores the relationships between people. Every episode contains a new story while slowly linking together Violet’s past and present together. 

Violet Evergarden is a deep and emotional story. Violet is a naive and straightforward character, but she is full of hope and never gives up. Despite her apathetic doll-like face, Violet writes incredible, heartwarming letters for clients. 

Violet Evergarden is available for streaming on Netflix and has various war scenes. There are 13 episodes in the first season and a movie is set to come out in 2020.
