My first semester

Sofia Ramos

As the fall semester of the 2016-2017 school year comes to an end, I am extremely shocked at how fast it has passed and a bit disappointed. I am disappointed because I feel that I wont like my classes next semester. This semester my classes were pretty chill, and I really liked the people in them.

My classes included journalism, AP English, AP Spanish, BIM, and physics. I did not take the STAAR this semester, although it’s an easy test I’m not looking forward to testing in a few months.

This semester was full of fun events that left me with great memories. Memories like the Hispanic festival, football games, pep rally’s, the Nixon Jamaica, etc. Second semester doesn’t really include any events like those. Also, this semester included thanksgiving break and Christmas break.

One of the most memorable moments of this semester was the Martin vs. Nixon football game. Nixon’s victory was great, and it rained cats and dogs, so everybody got soaked. It was a fun time and I was able to hangout with old friends from other schools that I hadn’t seen in a long time. The week before the game is “rivalry week”. The whole school is decorated and everybody is excited for the big game. I think first semester is always more fun than second.

Pep rallies this year were also great because now that I’m a junior my class is more spirited. Although we only gained like one sprit stick this year, it was a pleasant change from my sophomore year when nobody had any spirit.

My favorite class this year was physics. I met a lot of cool new people in that class that I hope I stay friends with for a long time. I made a lot of fun memories. All of the people in that class get along and we’re all a big group of friends. Sometimes we all hangout outside of school. It amazes me that this semester has gone by so quickly and the second semester is about to start. Hopefully this coming semester is good to me and leaves me with even better memories.
